Nicolas Bellanger

Born in 1989 Nicolas Bellanger was brought up at his parents TB stud farm amidst broodmares and their young hopeful offspring, a childhood that has instilled him with a limitless passion for thoroughbreds and the world of racing. Nicolas very much followed the family footsteps and his passion… 

Nicolas has gained as much experience as possible to date, firstly by completing specialised education in breeding, management and training of horses, by working on on both sides of the Atlantic has accumulated much and varied experience namely in working with foals at the Brookdale Stud farm in America and the highly reputable Darley Stud in Australia along with Mill Park stud, an invaluable experience to learn how various different yards and breeders function.

While in Australia Nicolas gained experience with Gerard Ryan working as a jockey on the morning gallops and as first lad at the world renowned Melbourne cup.

Nicolas returned to France in 2012 where he held the position of first lad at the yard of Yan Durepaire, once Nicolas was certain he had gained the experience he needed , he took and passed the exams he needed to set up as a trainer on his own. 
Now with more motivation than ever Nicolas has based himself at the training centre of Chazey-sur-Ain in a pristine new and very functional yard with superb facilities just a few miles from Lyon in the centre of France
